I’m not up on what game vendors are up to but it's no secret that a lot of devices are not secured and the more junk you have on yours, the more risks. Point being that some of the biggest boys around have gotten hacked (Apple iCloud, Yahoo) and wacky tracking has been around for decades, long before the internet even. Think “Equifax”.

I’m currently having a go at The Black Box Project by Frank Pasquale (Houghton Miflin, 2016 if I remember correctly) and I'm going to go ahead and call it recommended reading.
